Residents of Chesterfield are furious with their county over proposed “Matoaca Megasite”. County has conducted three public meeting in two days on Matoca Megasite.

Residents living near this Matoca Megasite want to know what this mega-site is all about. However, county claims that it doesn’t know yet. Chesterfield has picked up a huge piece of land, applied to rezone it for heavy industrial use. They drew plans for roads and many others things. This project may bring several jobs.

Residents claim that county knows all of that, but still not disclosing any information. People living here say that county keeps dumping projects that they don’t want and give all the best projects to Midlothian area.

There are speculations that this project may bring in around 5000 jobs, big dollar taxes and also reduce property tax burden. However, the biggest concern to residents is, this project is being built right next to the resident area.
