UPA neglects TN: Jayalalitha

The Tamil Nadu chief minister, J Jayalalitha has accused the Centre for not allegedly neglecting Tamil Naidu besides indicating that the UPA Government was working against her.

She has said that the monthly kerosene quota for the state had been reduced by half after her government came to power. She has also said that she made many requests to the Centre for the release of funds and extra electricity but all of them went in vain, she alleged.

yalalitha said: "The Central government seems to think that Tamil Nadu should not be allowed to flourish as Jayalalithaa will grow into a major force if all her demands are met with."

"Irrespective of the number of pleas, there has been no allocation of funds or additional electricity even as people are groping in the dark. The Centre's actions are aimed at ensuring Tamil Nadu does not grow," she added.

Speaking on the law and order situation in the state, Jayalalitha has said that there was no naxal menace or terrorism in the state. She even took on the media alleging that TV channels were eagerly waiting to finding petty mistakes only for blowing up and increasing Target Rating Points (TRPs).

The Centre is yet to respond or come down heavily on these statements by Jayalalitha. Will Centre clarify that no state is ignored or will it ignore the allegations are million dollar questions. (Phani)
