The police in Virginia said that a man and woman are found dead following the two separate shootings which were reported hours apart.
The local news outlets report that Norfolk police responded to the two homicides on Sunday. Officials said that 18-year-old Nateria S. Powell has died at a local hospital after the officers found her with a gunshot wound at around 12:45 p.m.
Shortly after that, the police took 19-year-old Lamontraye D. McAdams into the custody. McAdams is charged with one count of the second-degree murder. It is unclear if he has a lawyer or not.
Later on, just before 9 p.m., the officers pronounced that a man who had been shot in the Ocean View region was dead at the scene.
Witnesses there said that they saw the flash of a gun firing seven shots before the black SUV sped away. The police canvassed the area and also blocked a nearby intersection.
